CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECOLOGICAL TRANSITION
Safeguarding the environment
Energy efficiency and the reduction of our impact
To counteract the negative effects of climate change, the international community has set itself the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55% before 2030 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The achievement of these objectives also requires a commitment on the part of companies to implementing energy efficiency strategies and increasing the use of renewable energy sources. For us, this means implementing projects aimed at decarbonisation.
The accurate and complete mapping of emissions (Scope1, Scope2 and Scope3) gives us an understanding of the impact of our carbon footprint so we can evaluate and define the action areas of our decarbonisation strategy.
Currently, approximately 80% of the electricity we consume comes from certified renewable sources, thanks also to the various photovoltaic systems installed at our sites; we aim to reach 100% by 2025.
This reduction in our impact also involves the increasingly informed use of resources which – for us – means constantly improving the efficiency of our systems and plants, as well as the digitalisation of processes.
The responsible disposal of the waste we produce is an integral part of our environmental sustainability policy. Our focus, in this area, is on production waste and how it is disposed of (today over 66% of our waste is recycled), demonstrating our holistic commitment to the ecological transition.
We are also launching projects aimed at improving corporate mobility through the introduction of a lower impact fleet and the evaluation of air travel with sustainable companies.
