Overview

R-SSI4 is a module with 4 optoisolated SSI channels.

For each channel it is possible:
– program operating mode: frequency of the output SSI clock (from 10kHz to
2MHz), number of transmission bits (24, 25 or 32) and encoding of the input data (binary or Gray)

Each channel has:
– 2 terminals for the DATA signal
– 2 terminals for the CLOCK signal
– 2 terminals for sensor power supply
– 2 LEDs to signal the status of the inputs and outputs

Two 12-pole push-in connectors are available for wiring the 4 channels.
The module (powered externally by a special front connector) supplies power to the individual connectors. The R-SSI4 is installed on the backplanes of the R-BUS(x) series, from which it receives its power supply.

  • 4 inputs SSI 24, 25 and 32 bit
  • the channels are independently configurable via software:
    • SSI clock frequency from 10kHz to 2MHz
    • number of bits of the data at 24, 25 and 32 bits
    • data coding as binary and Gray
    • diagnostics of connection interruption with the sensor that can be enabled or disabled
  • input isolation >2KV
  • overvoltage on inputs for 1ms max. 1kV
  • Power supply: via R-BUS(x) 3.3V backplane

Diagnostics

  • Yellow LED presence of 24V external
    power supplies
  • Green LEDs for CLOCK and DATA
    status
  • Red Fail LED, module error

Sensors power supply

8÷32Vcc ± 25% 500mA max. external (fed to front terminals).
Power supply is internally distributed to the 4 channels and is configurable at +5V or to the voltage applied externally.
