Gefran and Bausano: tailored solutions in the name of applicational flexibility and efficiency

Gefran’s key goals

One of the Gefran’s key goals is to support customer companies in improving the performance of technological processes, by ensuring continuity and maximising value. Passion, energy, expertise and innovation allow effective and targeted responses through proprietary technologies that deliver the company promises of reliability, quality and safety.

Gefran and Bausano & Figli S.p.A.

Quality, flexibility and a customer centric approach represent the premises of the successful partnership between Gefran and Bausano & Figli S.p.A. A synergic and steadily growing partnership, which began over 50 years ago with their respective founders and stems from the manufacturing excellence shared by both companies, which allows to satisfy the needs of an ever-evolving market.

Bausano

Bausano, an Italian company founded in 1946, is an international leading player for the design and manufacturing of custom plastic extrusion lines. Thanks to its consolidated know-how, Bausano manufactures tailored solution for PO and PVC pipes, plastic pellets, rigid and flexible profiles, WPC and Recycle, which can be used in a variety of applications, such as the medical sector. The company, with headquarters in Torino, has around 100 employees and reaches a yearly turnover of 20 million euros, thanks also to its international capillary presence. The latter is supported by three production sites in Italy, Brazil and India and a sales office in the United States of America.

Bausano chooses Gefran as its partner for the engineering of electric, electronical and software parts, being able to satisfy every technical need. Furthermore, Gefran’s provides fast and reliable aftersales services in case of critical production problems.

The solutions

Bausano uses the KE series of Melt pressure transducers on its extrusion lines, which grant optimized extrusion processes thanks to their ability to keep a stable and optimal flow-state, allowing for better performances and safety standards. These sensors can measure pressure even at intense temperatures of 538 °C and their GTP+ coating vastly improves resistance to corrosion and abrasion. Their hydraulic pressure signal transmission utilizes an incompressible medium (NaK – sodium/potassium), which ensures stable temperatures.

The GRS-H series of single-phase solid-state relays with integrated diagnostics represents an ideal solution for plastic extrusion machines, thanks to the quick detection of load breaks and possible control loop failures.

Several benefits are therefore guaranteed: on one side, machines downtime is greatly reduced and on the other side, waste production is also limited. These SSRs, available in current ranges from 15A up to 120A and for voltages up to 660 Vac, deliver an ultracompact and strong design, which allows for easy installation and long-lasting performances.
